Southside Baptist Church, Birmingham, in Birmingham Baptist Association invited its neighbor Temple Emanu-El to a joint observation of Yom HaShoah April 15. The day is an annual time of remembrance, education and advocacy on behalf of the millions of Holocaust victims. The service, which included prayer, reading of sacred texts and songs, also recognized the sacrifices of those Christians who worked to end the Holocaust, said Southside Baptist Pastor J. Stephen Jones.
