PORTLAND, Ore. — “La Oracion de Jabes,” the Spanish version of the best-selling Christian book “The Prayer of Jabez” was named Outstanding Book of the Year by the Spanish Evangelical Publishers Association.
The award honors the book considered to have the greatest impact on the industry in the previous year and is chosen by sellers of Spanish books in the United States and Latin America.
Larry A. Downs, executive vice president of Editorial Unilit, a prominent translator of English-to-Spanish books in the Christian market, said more than 250,000 copies of the book have been sold in Spanish.
The Multnomah Publishers book by Bruce Wilkinson is available in 14 languages, including Chinese, Japanese, French and Korean. It has sold more than 9 million copies.
