You’re Still Lord of All

Since he first appeared on the southern gospel scene with The Mighty Kingsmen in the 1970s, Squire Parsons has won many fans and friends with his smooth baritone voice, gentle demeanor and incomparable songwriting.
The newest collection of songs from Parsons, “You’re Still Lord of All,” is filled to the brim with future favorite songs from the pen of this true writing legend.
For instance, “Dwelling by the Well” and “That Blessed Old Book” are fun sing-a-long songs in classic southern gospel style. Don’t be surprised when you hear either of these songs recorded by top artists very soon.
One of my personal favorites, “Sing on Children,” written in the style of an old spiritual, is a rally cry to keep the song of the gospel going in our children and their children to “sing on about the blood and the cross no matter what the cost.” Amen, Parsons.
“When the Master’s on Board” gives hope to the Christian. No matter what winds may blow, we will not go down because the Master is still guiding the Old Ship of Zion.
“Get Up” gets a little extra shine on the shoes from multi-instrumentalist David Johnson and a first-rate crew of background vocalists.
The more I listen to “You’re Still Lord of All” the more I understand why Parsons has remained one of the standard bearers of quality songwriting and singing for southern gospel.
Be sure to check out “You’re Still Lord of All” — and Parsons — in a town near you very soon. You will not be disappointed.
