Longtime Alabama Baptist pastor Hoyt St. John died May 14. He was 75.
A member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Gadsden, St. John served as pastor of churches in Etowah, Cherokee and St. Clair Baptist associations for 40 of his 54 years in ministry.
At the time of his death, he was doing interim pastor work with Etowah Association.
St. John attended Arlington Bible College in Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Helen, and is survived by his children, Rebecca “Becky” St. John of Gadsden and Tim St. John of Birmingham; three grandchildren; and fiancée Gail Clough of Gadsden. (TAB)
