State convention re-elects slate of officers

Messengers to the Alabama Baptist State Convention meeting tapped the leaders in their three top posts to serve a second term this year.

Jimmy Jackson (right), pastor of Whitesburg Baptist Church, Huntsville, was re-elected convention president during the annual meeting Nov. 18. Mike Shaw (center), pastor of First Baptist Church, Pelham, was re-elected first vice president, and John Killian (left), pastor of Maytown Baptist Church, was re-elected second vice president.

Also re-elected were Mary Sue Bennett, Bobby DuBois and Billy Austin — all of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions — as recording secretary, statistical secretary and registration secretary, respectively. (TAB)
