Station broadcasting in Southeast Asia

JAKARTA, Indonesia — In cooperation with well-known Christian ministries, extensive program development and expansion by international broadcaster Trans World Radio (TWR) is enabling more people throughout Southeast Asia to hear the life-changing message of Christ.

TWR began airing Javanese language programs for the first time March 26. The 30-minute “Thru the Bible” (TTB) program airs Monday through Friday, while a new topical discipleship program, designed to encourage and counsel believers, airs Sunday evenings. TTB broadcasts take listeners through the Bible during a five-year time frame. Later this year, a translated and adapted version of the practical discipleship program, “Insight for Living,” will air in the Javanese and Indonesian languages. The vast majority of the 75 million Javanese-speaking people live in center and eastern Java, part of Indonesia’s archipelago. Most practice Islam.

Beginning in October, TWR’s outreach to Vietnam from Guam will significantly expand when adapted Vietnamese versions of “Insight for Living,” “Thru the Bible” and “Women of Hope” are added.
