In December we completed 10 years of service in the Dominican Republic (our 11th anniversary with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention occurred in August 2000).
Your prayers, messages of support and gifts through your local Baptist church, the Cooperative Program and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions all make it possible for us to serve.
We thank God that we can be your representatives.
Please note the following praises and prayer requests:
-Praise the Lord for 48 deaf leaders who were trained this fall in two weekly sessions in Santiago and Santo Domingo and the Dominican Republic. Upon completion of their courses, they received an unfolding cube with no words, but the plan of salvation in pictures.
-The Dominican joint Christmas worship for the deaf was held Dec. 16 and 108 deaf persons attended.
-Our hearing-impaired team of the Dominican Republic will receive a new member in March, when Amy Gilchrist arrives from Gadsden to serve two years with us as a Journeyman. Pray for her.
-We thank the Lord for the many deaf and hearing volunteers who helped us during the year 2000.
-Pray for Vacation Bible School for Dominican deaf children, March 17–24.
