Q: What was your childhood like?
A: I grew up during the Depression. My mother died when I was 10 years old from cancer. It took me a year to get over it. … My family may have not had much, but God truly blessed us with everything we could possibly have needed.
Q: How did you come to know the Lord?
A: When I was 12 or maybe 13, God spoke to me and that is when I got officially saved, but I have known about God my whole life.
Q: How have you been involved in church through the years?
A: I was mostly involved with the kitchen ministry at church. I also was a VBS volunteer while my children were growing up.
Q: How have churches changed over the years?
A: Shouting out “Praise the Lord” and “Hallelujah” during a sermon was very popular when I was a little girl, but now you do not hear that much anymore. … Also there is more missionary work going on now with the church than when I was a little girl. People are going to Peru and other places to spread the gospel. God is doing some amazing work in churches now.
Q: What difference has being a Christian made in your life?
A: The question I have to ask myself is how could I have made it without God for all of these years
