COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — More than 300,000 students took their Bibles with them to school Oct. 6 for “Bring Your Bible to School Day,” an observance intended as a show of evangelism and an expression of religious freedom.
The national event — in its third year — is sponsored by Focus on the Family and has seen “inspiring” growth in participation, according to Jim Daly, president of Focus.
He also said that religious freedom is a key component of the observance, calling it “a nationwide, religious freedom initiative for students from kindergarten to college,” according to The Christian Post.
“On this day, they celebrate religious freedom and share God’s hope by taking a simple action — bringing their Bibles to school and talking about it with friends before and after class,” Daly said. (TAB)
