SU Auxiliary hosts panelists

Samford University’s Auxiliary will be providing 28 scholarships to student in nursing, music, communications, and ministry studies. The Auxiliary kicked off the new year Oct. 11.

Panelists Thomas E. Corts, Samford President; Albert Brewer, Samford law professor, and Lenora Pate, Birmingham attorney, discussed why Alabama needs a new constitution.

The Nov. 8 meeting will feature a tour of the new $26 million Sciencenter, which includes the largest planetarium/theater dome in a teaching institution in Alabama.

The Auxiliary will meet Dec. 7 to hear Samford professor of geography Greg Jeane speak on “Jordan- Land of the Prophets.” The Feb. 14 program will feature Jonathan Bass, assistant professor of history and political science.

On March 14, Bill Hull, Samford professor and minister-in-residence at Mountain Brook Baptist Church, will lead the Auxiliary in a look at the “Left Behind” series. (SU)
