Susan Hamm Named Miss Samford 2010

Susan Hamm, a junior business administration major from Thorsby and member of Pates Chapel Baptist Church, Jemison, was crowned Miss Samford University 2010 Nov. 20.

Hamm, the daughter of Beverly and Mark Hamm, will represent Samford in the Miss Alabama scholarship pageant in June. Her pageant platform is Children’s Miracle Network — A Smile for Every Child.

A pianist, Hamm was named co-winner of the talent competition for her performance of C.P.E. Bach’s “Solfeggietto.”

Pageant finalists were Ashla Taylor, a junior education major from McCalla, first runner-up, and Maegan Carroll, a first-year pharmacy student from Trussville, second runner-up.

Katherine Fuller, a junior chemistry and biochemistry major from Brierfield, tied with Hamm in the talent competition for her piano performance of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s “Prelude in G minor, op. 23, no. 5.”
