Places to Go, People to See

The Hoskins Family has taken southern gospel music by storm. This latest release, “Places to Go, People to See,” has some of their best work to date. For the past three years, their singles have been racing up the charts. Be looking for more from this new recording, because they have done it again. Producer Wayne Haun has really found a way to bring out the best in this family group, and his touch is all over this project, from the first song to the last. The Hoskinses can certainly be proud of this recording as it presents a new standard for each member.
You will find an unusual twist on the opening number, “Ordinary Sunday,” which is the first of two songs penned by Mark Mathes. We won’t spoil the unique surprise beginning; you’ll have to listen for yourself, but it is a very clever approach to the song. “I’m Believin’” keeps the pace of fresh upbeat songs. The first single, which is the title cut, was written by Gerald Crabb, and is destined to camp out near the top of the charts. The next song on the recording is the second from Mark Mathes, and it is a shouter from the first line: “The Palm of His Hand” is one of the strongest on the project. Rick Hoskins does an incredible job on a tune called, “My God Is Able,” which has catchy lyrics and a great “Pray Down the Power” is another toetapper that church choirs will certainly pick up on. Other songs on the 12-song disk include “The Sound of His Voice,” “What Are You Doing Right Now?” “I’ll Pray You on Your Way,” “City Limits,” “Somebody’s Praying Right Now,” and “How Did God Know?” featuring Angie and Abby Aldridge on one of the sweetest mother-daughter ballads you will ever hear.
