J. Holland Thomas, former pastor of First Baptist Church, Leeds, died Oct. 7. He was 92.
Thomas graduated from Menlo High School in Menlo, Ga. (now Chattanooga High School in Summerville, Ga.); Bob Jones College in Cleveland, Tenn. (now Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C.) with a bachelor of arts degree in English and religion; and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., with a master of divinity.
He also served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Piedmont; First Baptist Church, Boaz; and several other churches in Kentucky and Georgia.
Thomas is preceded in death by his first wife, Edna. He is survived by his second wife, Emma; four children; two stepchildren; seven grandchildren; and 14 grandchildren
