When Lisa McGalliard’s family was going through a trying time, a friend suggested that Lisa start keeping a journal. “To Feel His Heartbeat” is the result — a series of intimate, heartfelt reflections on how God was working in her life. The journal begins on the day before the family filed for bankruptcy and chronicles a three-month period in the author’s life. The entries describe McGalliard’s struggle to come to terms with the family’s financial problems as she simultaneously seeks to draw closer to God — so close she can feel His heartbeat.
