Tribute Quartet
My Tribute
BSA World Records
Producers Glen Bates and Arthur Rice have successfully brought out the best vocals in each of the men of the Tribute Quartet, and the result is one fine debut recording.
Despite never straying far from traditional quartet roots, “My Tribute” delivers a variety of musical styles within the boundaries of traditional southern gospel.
This recording includes 11 songs plus a bonus cut, “Give the Gift,” which was a special radio release during the 2006 Christmas holidays.
There are plenty of single-worthy songs on this album, and at the top of the list are “Heaven in Sight,” a driving tune with plenty of tight harmony and a hot musical track that radio will devour, and “God Knows,” a ballad showcasing the outstanding voice of tenor Jacob Kitson. “I Found a Place” is another strong radio contender.
Fans of easy-listening music and smooth vocal blends will enjoy the Tribute Quartet’s treatment of “In the Shelter of His Hands” and “It’s Always Been You.”
The title cut and “I’m in That Crowd” are both soul-stirrers further supporting the fact that there is much variety on this project.
If this project is any indication of the sound, style and quality that we can look forward to from the Tribute Quartet, its future in southern gospel music looks considerably bright.
