Trinity Baptist Church, Roanoke, on mission

Trinity Baptist Church, Roanoke, in Randolph Baptist Association took two one-day missions experience trips. For the first trip March 23, Pastor Richard Richie took 18 people to volunteer with Urban Ministry, a United Methodist ministry that offers programs of compassion and wholeness to the suffering and needy in inner-city Birmingham.

While there, the group served lunch to the homeless and underprivileged, sorted the food pantry, made food bags and assisted with cleaning.

For the second trip May 11, Richie led 10 volunteers to serve at Meals of Mercy in Anniston, which provides the homeless, elderly and low-income families a weekly hot noon meal. The group spent time preparing the meal and serving it to more than 120 people. Later that day, the team visited and donated items to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries’ Friendship House in Oxford.
