Former Alabama Baptist pastor and Prattville-native J. Carroll Trotter died March 12. He was 91.
A graduate of Howard College (now Samford University) in Birmingham and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., Trotter served as pastor of Eutaw Baptist Church in Bigbee Baptist Association (1951–1953) and Thomasville Baptist Church in Clarke Baptist Association (1953–1955). In 1955, he moved to Wake Forest, N.C., to join the faculty of the newly formed Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, from which he retired in 1983. While there, Trotter served as interim pastor of more than 50 churches.
Trotter was preceded in death by his wife. He is survived by two children and three grandchildren. (TAB)
