The persecution of Christians in Nigeria continues to claim lives as two more were recently killed. Dozens of other believers were kidnapped.
Nigeria is No. 7 on Open Doors’ 2026 World Watch List of the 50 places most difficult to be a Christian. It has led the world in the number of Christians killed for their faith or abducted.

On Feb. 26, Joshua Ajiya, pastor of Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ in Dorowa Maitozo village in Nigeria’s Kaduna state, was slain. A source told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News that Ajiya began serving at the church two months prior.
Dozens abducted
Dozens of Christians were abducted during the attack.
The assailants are believed to be Muslim Fulani herdsmen.
In a separate incident, John Omoniyi Ajise was killed March 11 when suspected Fulani terrorists attacked Oyatedo village in Kwara state. His wife and four other Christians were kidnapped, reported Christian Daily-Morning Star.
