ABUJA, Nigeria — At least two Christians were slain, another was wounded and several were kidnapped in days of militant attacks upon villages in Nigeria.
According to media sources Christian Daily International and Morning Star News, a neighbor said Muslim Fulani herdsmen shot Barnabas Para dead at his home in Gwanje village in Nasarawa state on Dec. 1. Another neighbor — Okigwe Gajere — was seized but fled.

Also that day, herdsmen killed a Christian man in Ntsakpe village, said a resident. Another Christian man was hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
Herdsmen also targeted the Ningo and Goho communities, a media adviser to a government entity told the two news outlets.
A Goho resident’s Facebook post states that Joseph Haruna Kigbu, who is a former member of the National Assembly, and his wife were abducted Dec. 1, during which a member of his security detail was killed.
On Nov. 28 herdsmen kidnapped Charles Joshua, pastor of Living Faith Church, along with three others in a raid upon Ningo, a source told the news outlets.
Nigeria, which is No. 6 on Open Doors’ 2024 World Watch List of places most difficult to be a Christian, has led the world in the number of Christians killed for their faith or kidnapped.
