UM gets $100,000 grant for recruiting

The Crampton Trust has awarded a $100,000 grant to the University of Mobile (UM) to implement marketing and recruitment strategies, according to Marty Vignes, executive director of development at UM.

She said the grant will be used to increase awareness of the university outside the local area and attract students with high academic ability.

The marketing effort is part of the university’s long-range strategic goal to increase its residential population while continuing to attract and retain local commuter students.

The Crampton Trust is a foundation established through the estate of Katherine Crampton Cochrane that awards grants in the areas of education, civic and humanities throughout southwest Alabama.

“We are thankful to the Crampton Trust for their continued investment in the University of Mobile,” Vignes said.  (UM)
