John MacLaren is the new pastor of Uniontown Church. He and his wife, Judy, come from Riverside Heights Church, Tallassee, where he served as interim pastor. MacLaren served in the office of Cooperative Program and stewardship development for the State Board of Missions for 13 years, as director of missions for Elmore Association for 15 years and as pastor of churches in Alabama and Mississippi. He holds a bachelor’s degree in religious education and journalism from Samford University in Birmingham, a nursing degree from Norman College in Norman Park, Ga., and a master of theology from New Orleans Seminary.
