The Voice of the Martyrs is launching the Extreme Devotion podcast Jan. 1 — a daily podcast intended to bring to life the widely acclaimed book “Extreme Devotion; Daily Devotional Stories of Ancient to Modern-Day Believers Who Sacrificed Everything for Christ.”
The book has more than 1 million copies in print in 36 languages and features 365 real-life accounts of believers who sacrificed everything for Christ. VOM announced the new podcast through a press release emailed to media outlets Dec. 27.
True stories shared daily
Each episode of Extreme Devotion podcast offers a gripping true devotional story of courage, commitment, confession and compassion, according to VOM officials. Spanning from the ancient world to modern times, these true stories of persecuted Christians showcase the unwavering faith of men and women who paid the ultimate price for following Christ.
“In addition to giving us Himself, our Lord has given us other believers who are, with us, His bride and body,” said VOM President Cole Richards. “Our commitment to Christ and to his great commission is strengthened and deepened as we are encouraged and challenged by true testimonies of faith from believers in scripture, throughout church history and around the world today.”
The stories highlight the extraordinary trials and perseverance of believers of persecuted Christians and serve as both a challenge and encouragement to those seeking to strengthen their walk with Christ in today’s world.
‘Courageous faith’
“Our new Extreme Devotion podcast is a powerful — and convenient — way for each of us to encounter inspiring testimonies of courageous faith that will bless and encourage us,” said Richards. “These testimonies were purchased by the suffering of saints who have come before us and they are our heritage as Christians.”
Extreme Devotion is VOM’s second podcast release. The Voice of the Martyrs Radio, posted weekly, has reached Number 1 on Apple’s Religion and Spirituality podcast chart.
The Extreme Devotion podcast will be available on all major podcast platforms. Listeners can subscribe on Apple Podcasts or Spotify and listen to a trailer episode now.
