Bob Phillips, administrator of Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, was awarded the Homer M. Lloyd Jr. Leadership Award during the Baptist Health System (BHS) leadership meeting Aug. 7.
BHS President and CEO Shane Spees presented the award to Phillips.
Since becoming administrator in March 2009, Phillips has led Walker Baptist Center to a “financial turnaround” and has identified key needs of the hospital to meet the community’s health care needs, according to BHS.
“Bob has also helped boost the hospital’s reputation in the community,” Spees said. “We are blessed to have an outstanding complement of leaders like Bob. … Their dedication, knowledge and compassion for others guide us as we live out our mission.”
