Want to know God?

Want to know God?

Eastern Shore Baptist Church, Daphne

My father has a great saying: “Keep it simple stupid.” In a world that is fast and complicated, simplicity is a lost art. The Christian faith is full of complex questions that perhaps we were never meant to know. After all, if we knew everything, why would we need God?

Jesus makes remarkably clear the path to eternal life. First He lets us know that it is God’s desire for all people to see salvation (John 3:16; 2 Pet. 3:9).

Next God provides a doorway to salvation through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross (Rom. 5:6; John 14:6). If our sin separated humanity from God, it was the cross of Christ that bridged the gap between the two.

Lastly if we call upon Jesus we will have a heavenly destination that can never be revoked (John 10:27–29; John 14:1–3; Rom. 10:13).

There is no need to overcomplicate salvation. You cannot earn it. You cannot buy it. You cannot force it. You just ask for it.

When you receive salvation, it cannot be stolen, lost or demanded from you. However, salvation can be shared. When sharing your salvation, just remember to “keep it simple.”
