Want to know God?

Want to know God?

Think of the person you love most in this world. If you were asked, would you voluntarily be tortured and die to save that person? Most of us would immediately say “of course.” We would do anything for them.

Now let me ask you this: have you told them about repentance, surrender and salvation? Have you told them that Jesus loves them just as they are, where they are, no matter what they have done? Have you planted this seed and watered it regularly?

If you are a Christian you are commanded to tell others about Jesus, to be His disciple. Our command comes from Jesus’ very lips in a message known as the Great Commission. You can find it in Acts 1:8.

In this passage Jesus says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

This is one reason that I enjoy writing this column. Before I took on this endeavor I prayed, “OK, Lord, I have no idea what I am going to say but I want people to know the peace and love that I feel. Please give me the words.”

It is my fervent hope and prayer that one of these columns touches someone somewhere. I may not have ever personally met you, but God created you. You may have felt emptiness, loneliness or a feeling of no purpose. I can tell you how to fill that void. God sent Jesus to save you, the Holy Spirit to guide you and disciples to lead you to a relationship with your Savior, Jesus Christ.
