For those of us on the Gulf Coast, this has been another year of storms. We have weathered these tropical disturbances as challenges have been met and victories won.
As we say down here, “It is not a matter of if but when.” That is true in life in the everyday journey. We face large crisis and larger crises in every phase of life.
To be a Christian is to be assured of eternal life in heaven with our Lord. Christianity is also the life we experience here on earth — even in the midst of storms. We have the presence of Jesus 24–7. He walks with us through the valleys and on the mountaintop. It is His all-powerful presence that guides our life journey.
A very well-known verse, John 3:16, speaks of God loving us and making sure we don’t perish but have everlasting life. In many storms, people perish but we have good news that God has made a way for us to be saved.
Today, as we look to the Gulf for any signs of a storm, it is comforting to know that the Savior has already paid the price for any and all storms of life.
