Want to know God?

I do not know anyone who is not trying to find the most meaningful life possible. When God created us, it was His intention for us to have a solid and purposeful life. God created us to have a personal relationship with Him and allow Him to guide our way of life.

Unfortunately there is something within us that causes us to turn away from God and find meaning in life independent of a relationship with Him. When we do that, we break our relationship with God and life begins to crumble. A man named David made that mistake. He decided he could take another man’s wife for personal pleasure, though God had forbidden that. He chose to live independently of a relationship with God and it cost him dearly.

There are no exceptions to this truth. When we try to find our meaning in life independent of a relationship with God, our way of life will be costly. It does not take much observation to see what is happening in our culture.

When we go our selfish way and ignore God, all kinds of troubles take place. Folks allow their natural desires to determine their decisions so all kinds of problems develop in relationships. Selfish desires determine behavior so all kinds of activities take place.

This way of life gradually brings emptiness and sadness. There is no sense of contentment because God has been ignored. There is only one way that emptiness and sadness can be dealt with. God is the true source of a fulfilling life so one can live each day and at the end of the day, have peace, not regrets. God sent Jesus Christ to show us this way to life that has purpose and meaning.

If you have been making the mistake of living your life independent of a relationship with God, then I would urge you to turn from that way and find your life in Jesus. He does not want to take anything of importance away from you or deny you anything of true value. He wants to give you life by showing you how to love God and enjoy the depth of life God wants you to have. All He needs you to do is ask Him to show you the way.
