The Gospel According to Mark is the recording of the good story about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The word “gospel” means good story.

Mark straightway introduces us to Jesus in the beginning of His ministry preaching the gospel. If you want to know God, then you must know the good story of Jesus.

Jesus said to people living in His day, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the gospel.”

You may be at the point now to say, “Yes, I want to know God. So what is the good story about Jesus Christ?” Thank you for asking.

The good story about Jesus is the most important story you will ever hear or receive. The good story is that He died for our sins, according to the Scriptures. He was buried yet was raised from the dead on the third day, according to the Scriptures. That is the good story about Him the apostle Paul told the people living in Corinth years ago, and it is still true today. That is why it is the good story.

Jesus died for sinners. And that is wonderful because the Bible declares that we are all sinners (Rom. 3:23). We have all sinned against a just and holy God. The good story is that Christ died for us even though we are sinners. The reason He died for sinners is because God loves us (Rom. 5:8). Jesus said to repent and believe the good story (Mark 1:15). The Bible teaches that anyone who calls upon Him to save him or her will be freed from the penalty of sin and will become a child of God. I told you it is a good story. Repent and believe the good story of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Let the story of Jesus become your story. Then share it with a friend.
