West End Baptist Church, Clanton, recently dedicated its new sanctuary and celebrated its 67th anniversary and homecoming Sept. 25. Original pews from the first sanctuary, built in 1954, were refinished and used in the balcony. Interim pastor Mike Shaw spoke during the celebration service and a plaque, constructed from pieces of mahogany from some of the original pews by member Sam Hayes, was presented to the church.
