George Yeargan Williams, retired director of missions (DOM) for Etowah Baptist Association, died Oct. 11. He was 80. An Alabama native, Williams earned a bachelor’s degree from Howard College (now Samford University) in Birmingham and graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.
