Nancy Whatley Wingard will be the guest artist at the University of Mobile’s Center for Performing Arts’ 13th annual Summer Music Camp to be held June 12–16 in Moorer Auditorium.
Wingard is an adjunct professor of music at Birmingham-Southern College. She holds a bachelor of music degree in piano performance from Birmingham-Southern, where she has taught piano and music theory.
She will present a lecture, “Pedagogical Methods from the Master Piano Teachers,” to area music teachers June 13, 1:30–2:30 p.m., at Martin Hall.
During the summer music camp, Wingard will conduct piano master classes for senior campers in grades 8–12. She will give lectures Monday though Thursday on the Parallels Between Art and Music. She will use slides and perform music as she teaches about the Baroque, Classic, Romantic and Contemporary eras.
