Harold Ray Wood, former pastor of Lakeside Baptist Church, Birmingham, in Birmingham Baptist Association, died Nov. 30. He was 87.
Wood graduated from Auburn University and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., and attended Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, Calif.
Before going to Lakeside Baptist, he served as pastor of numerous other churches in Alabama including First Baptist, Glencoe, and Bellevue Baptist, Gadsden, both in Etowah Baptist Association, and Katherwood Baptist, Birmingham, in Birmingham Association.
Wood also served as an interim pastor, full-time evangelist, Sunday School teacher and Bible study leader throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Perry Wood, of 67 years; four children; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. (TAB)
