Judson College has enlisted Alabama-native Billie Jean Young to serve as “Artist-in-Residence” during the spring semester.
Young, a Judson alumna, will assist Perry County schools by providing experience in the dramatic arts for middle and high school students.
A native of Pennington, Young is an actor, activist, poet and educator. She’s perhaps best known for her one-woman play “Fannie Lou Hamer: This Little Light,” based on the life of the Mississippi civil-rights activist.
