My perspective on 40 Days of Purpose is quite different from that of Charles Parrott, whose letter was published Oct. 28. Last fall I led a church in Florida through 40 Days.
We baptized 16 new Christians, 850 people connected in small group relationships, dozens of people became involved in ministry for the first time, several missions teams were staffed for upcoming projects overseas, and budget giving increased in one month by more than $32,000.
Attendance soared in both Sunday School and worship. Our church experienced tremendous spiritual growth. We give all the glory to God. The 40 days was simply a tool that God used.
Currently I am leading Alberta Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa through 40 Days, and we are praying for God to revive our church so we can be pleasing to Him and lead people to grow in Christ.
