More than 200 cyclists participated in the seventh annual Old Howard 100 Bike Ride at Judson College in Marion on April 16. Samford University was founded in Marion as Howard College in 1843, and the bike ride highlights the Black Belt’s contribution to education and religion. Since its inception, the ride has raised more than $15,000 for Perry County’s Sowing Seeds of Hope interfaith initiative.
