If you turn on the TV you can’t avoid them. They are always there, lurking in every commercial break.
I’m talking about those ads for miracle drugs. They supposedly help you deal with everything from cancer to memory loss to muscle aches, depression and baldness.
What I find interesting about these ads is the long recitation of possible side effects. They try to distract you with video of happy people on the beach, or at a yoga class, or enjoying a concert, while the announcer speeds through a long list of problems that could come up if you use the product: headaches, upset stomach, fever, bleeding, trouble breathing, rashes, dizziness or death.
Wait a minute! Did he say death?
I don’t know about you, but personally, I feel if one of the side effects is death, the others don’t really matter, right?
The commercials always tell you to ask your doctor if their drug is right for you. But what if I were to tell you that there is something you can do for your problems that doesn’t require you to ask for permission from anybody? You can start it whenever you want, you don’t have to go anywhere and it’s free? I guess you could even call it a miracle drug because it has been known to result in miracles.
It’s called praying to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
This is not one of those new experimental drugs. It has a proven track record of helping soothe adversity for more than 2,000 years. You only have to receive a dose of Jesus’ grace once, and the benefits last a lifetime.
Eternal side effects
However, there can be side effects. You may find yourself suddenly overcome with feelings of peace and tranquility. You may have trouble remembering things that caused you to be depressed and sad. You may feel urges to socialize with other Christians. Some patients have experienced attacks of joy that might even result in singing and lifting of arms toward the sky.
But one side effect you won’t have to deal with is death. With this medicine, you will never die. You may leave that imperfect earthly body behind, but it will be replaced by a perfect one.
So don’t delay. Take advantage of this special offer now. You never know when the opportunity might expire.
