Judgement Houses popular at Halloween

A number of Baptist churches across Alabama are once again offering a Halloween alternative for youth in their communities. Their vehicle is the popular Judgement House drama that presents a strong message of salvation via a walk-through, haunted house effect, setting.

Participants walk through a series of rooms with eight scenes depicting choices that result in spending eternity in heaven or hell.

Others have adapted the Judgement House idea, some even writing their own scripts.

For the third year in a row Revelation Walk has taken place at Eden Westside Baptist Church in Pell City. Instead of an indoor setting, the church sets its outdoor drama on church property. The participants of Revelation Walk are taken to the top of a mountain where they walk through a series of events relating to the book of Revelation as they journey back down the mountain.

Still, other church activities include fall festivals and “trunk or treat,” where children visit decorated car trunks located in the church’s parking lot.
