I am extremely disturbed about events going on around me. I just completed an article that described a meeting that should never have taken place. This article in The Alabama Baptist is titled “Theologians Agree God Knows Everything” (Feb. 7, page 11). I am extremely disturbed by the fact that there are theologians (so-called experts in the field of religion) that believe God is not all knowing. I can honestly say I would be scared to rely on a god that did not know the future of this planet. I am astonished by the fact that out of this panel of theologians 66 voted against the fact of an all-knowing God and 41 abstained from casting a vote. As a youth pastor I struggle on a daily basis to teach youth about a God that loves them and can manifest His presence in more ways than I can realize or explain, but on top of this I have to deal with liberal theology which has no basis in mainstream thought.
My prayer is to see us all get along. It seems to me people would rather be right than humble, people would rather be stubborn than admit their wrong, people would rather see someone hurt than take the blame, people would rather separate than work things out, people would rather die than admit they don’t know, and people would rather seek revenge rather than respect.
It truly pains me to think about Jesus … the night before His crucifixion. I feel part of Jesus’ tears could have been from His foreknowledge of how His so called followers would treat Him and His Father’s Word. We say we are seeking the lost. Well, I say the first place we look is inside and find the lost child Jesus referred to in Matther 19:14. I do not come as an intellectual… but as a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.
