Dashing Through the Springs, a 5K run to support the missions work of Shocco Springs Baptist Conference Center in Talladega, will be held Dec. 8. The event will also feature a 1K run/walk, vendor booths and refreshments as runners make their way through one of the most challenging 5K courses around. The course is set on Shocco’s 783-acre campus. The race course is certified by USA Track & Field and can be viewed on Google Earth.
Proceeds will benefit Shocco Springs Conference Center’s missions fund. The event is promoted by Brook Hills United Appeal Fund. The race begins at 8 a.m. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall and top three for each of the 12 male and female age categories.
Overnight accommodations are available for an additional cost.
