Art Burroughs, who served as pastor of Fulton Road Baptist Church, Mobile, for more than 20 years, recently retired.
Burroughs earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg in 1971.
In 1989, Burroughs felt called into full-time ministry and attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, earning his master of divinity degree in 1992.
Besides serving as pastor of Fulton Road Baptist, Burroughs served several years as president of Dauphin Island Parkway Ministerial Association, an interdenominational ministry. He also was active in Mobile Baptist Association, serving on several committees through the years. He is currently serving on the international missions committee and as chairman of the enlistment committee for the association.
He is serving on the committee on state boards and commissions for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions and has served on the board of regents for the University of Mobile since 1999.
He and his wife, Diane, have one daughter.
