A resolution was passed unanimously by the congregation of Pleasant Ridge Church, Hueytown, honoring Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper’s public stand against violence of all kinds. Among other items in the resolution, the church publicly declared its support for Roper’s public profession of “his belief and faith in Almighty God, our Creator; and for his public call for prayer to reclaim the city of Birmingham for the kingdom of God.” Don Hawkins is interim pastor.
