University of Mobile (UM) hosted 50 young women on campus June 22 during the 61st national finals for the Distinguished Young Women scholarship program, held each year in Mobile. Outstanding recent high school graduates from every state were on campus for a day of mentoring. ‘It was a joy to have these outstanding high school students on campus for the day. … They have been identified as the best of the best through their academic success, talent, leadership and character. We were excited to have the opportunity to meet them and introduce them to our university,’ said Kathy Dean, UM assistant vice president for university communications.
