Our preachers, Sunday School teachers and, yes, parents are failing to tell the world and the families that God wants “us” to live and dress different from the world. We have ladies who wear their slip-looking dresses to church, which really shouldn’t be worn anywhere without a dress over it. We have young men wearing clothes four sizes too big.
We even have gospel singers who seem to have lost their comb and brush. We need to look like we’ve truly been changed. We even use such terms as rap gospel, funk and rock gospel. Some want to look like and sound like the TV celebrities. These are the Scriptures I’m reading and what has brought me to my belief about God’s standard: Titus 1:13, 2:15; 1 Timothy 2:9; and Amos 7:7.
God wants us as His family to shine to a dark and sinful world of people.
