Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief teams were put on standby on Oct. 31 for relief after "post-tropical" cyclone Sandy blew through the Northeast, leaving devastation and loss of life.
As of Nov. 4, a request from Area Command/NAMB ordered Alabama Baptists' feeding unit to stand down. The state feeding unit, feeding personnel, child care personnel, communications personnel (83 personnel in total) and related support equipment are returning to Alabama. Please note that multiple state conventions with feeding units engaged have been ordered to return home.
Recovery teams are proceeding on into the disaster area as requested by Area Command/NAMB.
