Alabama Baptist Kathy Litton to be nominated for SBC post

Alabama Baptist Kathy Litton, director of planter spouse development for the North American Mission Board (NAMB), will be nominated as registration secretary of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) during the June 11–12 annual meeting in Birmingham.

Litton is the second nominee for SBC registration secretary and among only a few women in SBC’s history nominated for an officer role. Current registration secretary Don Currence also will be nominated for a third term in the role, according to a previous announcement.

Litton is a member of Redemption Church, Saraland, in Mobile Baptist Association, where her husband, Ed, is pastor.

She has been a pastor’s wife for more than 35 years and has participated in missions work both internationally and domestically. She has been a member of two SBC committees and the Great Commission Resurgence Task Force.

Litton has been on NAMB’s staff for eight years. (BP, TAB)
