Alabamians appointed to overseas work

An Alabama native and her husband were among 101 appointed as International Mission Board representatives during a service May 20 in Denver.

Emily Clayton Gillum, a native of Decatur and graduate of Auburn University, will be serving alongside her husband, Steven, as strategy coordinators in Fortaleza, Brazil. Steven Gillum holds a master of divinity in Christian ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C., and Emily Gillum has earned 57 hours in counseling studies there.

Three other representatives with Alabama ties were appointed to high-security regions. (TAB)
