All around the globe in every time zone, millions of students will gather around their school’s flagpole Sept. 27 for a time of prayer for the annual See You at the Pole (SYATP). SYATP is a student-initiated, student-organized and student-led event that will involve tens of thousands of Alabama students. This year’s SYATP emphasis is “Fix Our Eyes,” based on Hebrews 12:2.
“This year’s theme encourages us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of faith,” said Debi DeBoer, First Priority Greater Birmingham ministry director.
“In the midst of what is happening all around the world and the devastation from all the storms, what a great reminder to keep our eyes on the one who is the solution. Jesus is the one and only Almighty God. We can’t let distractions around us consume our thoughts; we need to focus on Jesus.”
First Priority, an Alabama-based Christian nonprofit that seeks to reach students with the gospel, organizes prayer rallies in conjunction with SYATP.
