ALPHARETTA, Ga. — High school and college students interested in applying to serve as summer missionaries through the North American Mission Board (NAMB) have until April 20 to submit applications, according to the entity’s missionary mobilization team.
Collegiate missionaries — including summer and semester missionaries — serve from two weeks to two years in such areas as collegiate ministry, youth ministry, church and community evangelism and church planting.
Sojourners — for students who have completed their junior or senior year of high school — serve four to 10 weeks in such settings as inner cities, small towns and the beach. A few of the ministry opportunities include working with younger youth, children, church and community evangelism, and helping start new churches. This year NAMB has requests for 200 students to serve.
Student missionaries receive round-trip transportation, insurance, food, housing and supervision in ministry. They work with Southern Baptist missionaries or churches.
Applications for summer missions service can be completed online at www.answerthecall.net. For more information, students can contact the Missionary Mobilization Team at 1-800-462-8657, Ext. 6461 or e-mail call@namb.net.
