WASHINGTON — Four Arab-American and Muslim police officers from New York City and a firefighter from Virginia have been honored by the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) and the Islamic Institute for their work in Sept. 11 rescue efforts in New York City and at the Pentagon.
At a Jan. 26 luncheon in Washington, Adil Almontaser, Rafet Awad, Faisal Khan and Ahmed Nasser of the New York City police department and Ronald J. Kuley of the Fairfax, Va., fire department received plaques of commendation and were praised by President Bush.
