Nationally, there are more than 2.5 million grandparents who carry the primary responsibility of caring for their grandchildren, with about a third of grandchildren living with their grandparents being under six years old.
Commemorated the Sunday after Labor Day each year, this year Grandparents Day is Sept. 8. Many churches and families will make a special effort to recognize the blessing of grandparents on this day.
This summer, 106 college students from Alabama scattered to serve in 17 countries, 11 states and the District of Columbia through One Mission Students. As they shared the gospel, they saw 157 people profess new faith in Christ.
